“The unexamined life is not worth living” -Aristotle             For many of us, the thought of an approaching year brings a surge of hope, positive anticipation, renewed strength, new aspirations and a surge of positive energy. The reality however sets in when in spite of our genuine intentions, big dreams, well-calculated plans, and expended efforts, we experience what may be termed the “good, the bad and the ugly”; a mix-bug of experiences. "The Good... "             For some, 2016 brought with it many fulfilled dreams and aspirations. Some landed their dream jobs while others got promoted on the job. There are still others who made a successful occupational move or diversion. New businesses were established while some existing businesses made substantial gains. Some young ‘love birds’ were joined in holy matrimony this year. Some married couples were blessed with the fruit of the womb this year with lit...

Guard Your Focus With Passion

I once heard a brief but profound quote that made quite an impression on me. It simply states thus: “where focus goes, energy flows.” Over and over again, I have found this quote true in my life. Are You Hopelessly Doomed To Mediocrity?

“The unused capacities of the human mind to learn, to think, and to create are enormous! Few of us develop more than a fraction of our capacity for intellectual competence and creativity” -Dr. Howard Clinebell This was over a decade ago. While pursuing a Higher National Diploma in Marketing in one of the nation`s Polytechnics, I had a brief but instructive encounter with   a fellow student on this particular day; we had just completed our examinations and so were officially on holidays but I had chosen to remain in a rented apartment that was in close proximity to campus. This friend of mine who also happened to be my roommate was a full-time worker and so only came around during examinations.  He chanced upon me while I was reading a book.   Astonished, he passed a comment which has stayed with me till date. He remarked, “We just completed our papers and you are still reading. Aren`t you tired of reading?” To him, once we were done with our examinations for...
