Image
1    Photo: Dr. Nabeel Qureshi       It was Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. who once opined: “It does not matter how long you live, but how well you live it.” Lucius Annaeus similarly noted: “Not how long, but how well you have lived is the main thing.” Put another way, one writer state d : "It is not the years in your life that counts, it`s the life in your years." So apt !!! This brief blog post is in loving memory of a young man whose life and ministry impacted the lives of several thousands across the globe. When Life Does Not Make Sense

Image
During much of my teenage years, I had quite a simplistic view of life; one that I presume is akin to that of many teenagers and adults. I held the general view that good things happen to good people and that bad things happen to bad people. One of its variations I thought, was that the serious and hardworking student is the one who eventually lands a good job and does well in life. This outlook on life is expressed in our daily conversions, howbeit in different ways. A teacher sees a truant and wayward student and says: “you will not amount to anything in life”. Another parent sees his obedient and respectful son, and whispers: “this son of mine will make me proud some day.” Yet another parent looks at his brilliant daughter and says: “she will become a renowned professor in future”. These are all well and good. However, over the years, I have discovered tha...

Photo: Rev. Dr. Moses Asaah SVD “Never underestimate the difference YOU can make in the lives of others. Step forward, reach out and help. This week reach to someone that might need a lift” –Pablo Our world is replete with a myriad of challenges; daunting challenges that can sometimes make us feel overwhelmed. What we ought to bear in mind, however, is that we are not individually called upon to find solutions to all the problems in our community, society, nation and the world at large. We have the moral obligation to make a difference in our spheres of contact, however small or big that might be. Many have and are doing their bit at home, at places of work, in communities, in their nations, and on the world stage to make the world a better place. One of such persons is Rev. Fr. Moses Asaah.   Rev. Fr. Moses Asaah is a Catholic priest in the Bongo district of the Upper East region of Ghana, West Africa who is revered by both the young and old in his community...

Five Notable Achievers Who Bounced Back After Staggering Defeat

“Winners are not afraid of losing. But losers are. Failure is part of the process of success. People who avoid failure also avoid success.” - Robert T. Kiyosaki The business or career challenge you are faced with at the moment is not unique to you. You might have lost your job or perhaps seen a business you invested so much time, effort and money suffer ‘a shipwreck’. The reality, however, is that this obviously disastrous turn of events is not peculiar to you. Scores of others have walked down the same road. This is not meant to make light of your current predicament but to assure you that you are not alone and that more importantly, irrespective of the mess you might find yourself in at this point (and the many times you have failed) in time, it isn’t over until you say it is over.   John Asaraf once noted, “pretty much every self-made billionaire slipped & fell on their way to the top, so if you have too, don`t take it too hard. Persistence is the key.”...
